The pin fell out from connecting hardware on my crossbody backpack on day two of my trip. Luckily I had the small tools to fix it otherwise I wouldn't have been able to wear it as a backpack , the strap would not have been secured. This was frustration because it took over an hour for my husband and me to fix it.

Purchased this backpack last year for travel, but find I use it everyday. Loved taking to Paris in the winter because it made me feel confident on the crowded metro, especially after my husband and I were pickpocketed a few years ago. Next trip will be Italy and Greece!

Now that I am retired I am ready to travel. I was looking for a sturdy yet fashionable cross body bag that did not scream "tourist". It has many features that make it less likely to be snatched from the back of a cafe chair yet at the same time is stylish. I wish it was a tad bit bigger and also I wish it had a separate outer pocket to hold a cell phone. Those are the only drawbacks.

This bag looks small, but I was shocked that it fit my iPad air and the magic keyboard, airpod max, and other toiletries. I have not tested it out on the road yet, but I am excited to begin using this as a an airport bag. The quality of the bag is nice and the jaquard straps are very soft.

While this bag is very well made and looks great I was hoping it would have a little more room. I put in my 20 oz water bottle and my Nikon B700 camera and most of the space was gone. Not to mention that it advertises locking hardware but that is only on the straps not the compartments. I did not feel comfortable with all my credit cards, money, and passport being in an unlocked compartment even with the clasp as a deterrent so I added a suitcase lock. Overall thought it was fine but I'm not sure if purchase it again.

This is a nice sized backpack! I got the thicker straps and I like that better than the skinnier strap of the Crissy Bag I have. However, I thought I didn't need the handle; nope, I need it! (I need to buy that now! Hehe) I'm looking forward to using this bag on our next vacation in September!

Love the actual backpack part. It is very sturdy and good quality. Held just enough and felt safe! I've only used this backpack for about 3 weeks while on a trip and unfortunately the straps started peeling. Really sad :( might try a different strap instead but loved the leather while they lasted.

I've had my Crissy Crossbody for years (still going strong), have been eyeing this bag for ages, finally purchased it before heading to Europe last month, and could not have been happier with it during our trip!! Though I had brought other pieces with me I ended up using this every day and it worked perfectly for hours full of exploring, hikes, pubs, museums, as well as nights out where we were a bit dressier. It matched everything perfectly.
For interior size context I was able to fit my DLSR camera with a huge 55-300 lens which is 5lbs by itself, packable umbrella, extra gloves or beanie, small makeup items, extra phone battery with cords, money, and other essentials, and a metal water bottle with a little configuring and was never worried about the weight or sturdiness of the bag. It also rained a ton on our trip and I was never worried about my stuff getting wet inside.
I didn't ever adjust the straps to properly make it crossbody, but I did quickly link them together to wear it like that for a museum visit which was no problem and only took a couple of seconds. I also found removing the straps made it really convenient for me to pack this inside of a larger backpack for our longer travel days.
Now that I'm home I've still been using this bag more than my others so I plan to purchase the fabric straps as well for a bit more comfort when I'm not wearing giant bulky coats and versatility.

I tried to love it, but it did work for me.
I thought it was bigger. The main compartment. It’s hard to get your hands in the main compartment. Would be great if bigger, had water bottle. It would also be great if it had an easy access to keep your phone in

TALL LADIES, CHECK THIS OUT! If you’re wondering if the backpack straps will be long enough, THEY ARE! I’m 5’9” and a curvy girl. I ordered the Carmel Convertible Backpack & Crossbody and the Crissy Full Crossbody with Faux Leather Strap (both locking hardware) and I’m SO HAPPY. These bags are gorgeous and roomy. I ordered both because I anticipated the backpack straps wouldn’t be long enough and I’m happy to say I was wrong! The backpack and crossbody straps are the length I love with more to spare! I will keep both and instead of waiting for my European adventure, these will be my everyday bags. They’re seriously SO NICE and well made. Best investment ever! Ordered on Saturday, I received both bags the following Thursday. Excellent customer service and packaging!

I absolutely love this backpack purse!!! I purchased it over 6 months ago and it’s been on 10+ trips with me. It fits so much than what it appears to! I can fit two 16 ounce water bottles along with snacks and all my essentials (wallet, hand sanitizer, lip balm, reusable grocery bag, sunglasses with case, and more!). I also have used it as an everyday bag. The features are amazing (anti-theft, water resistant, easy to wipe clean) on top of it looking so chic! I get compliments from strangers lol Another fun fact on how functional this bag is, my husband and I took a road trip with our dogs and forgot to bring their leashes! So we used the straps of the backpack since they’re removal as leashes and they worked fantastic in a pinch lol If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend this backpack purse. It was totally worth every penny and then some!

I am so happy I found Arden Cove! I was searching for a cute new bag, especially for travel. This bag hit all the important details of style and functionality. I love the smaller size and that it holds it's shape, it was perfect for my needs. I even put a water bottle inside. The wallet front with clasping zippers AND RFID is a dream. I also was happy with the pockets inside for easy access, and easy to see with the blue lining. I felt secure knowing that it was slash-proof and had clasps that made it harder for others to get into. AND water resistant (love the reinforced zippers)! Plus it's just really cute. I'm back from my travels, but still using this bag daily. Highly recommend this bag! I can't wait to get my next bag from Arden Cove! If you are debating buying this bag, DO IT!

I love this bag! It looks so sleek, and I definitely feel safer carrying it around vs any other backpack. I originally got it with the microfiber straps, but I ended up buying the jacquard ones instead since they’re more comfortable. Overall this bag is perfect for me since I prefer to be hands-free. It looks great and works well!

I really like the backpack, great quality, however, the zipper does not slide very easy, the straps are too big and stiff for such a small backpack, very uncomfortable to wear and keeps falling off my shoulders. the D-rings, and lock ring are too big which makes this beautiful backpack looks cheap. I had to replace the straps with a chain straps to match the beauty of this handbag, you might want to make the straps a little bit smaller, and maybe you can use a softer kind of leather. I would also suggest to put the bottom D-ring more towards the back so the rings doesn't show when you use it as a shoulder bag and maybe make the bottom front pocket and inch taller, and it this backpack would be perfect if you guys also put a zipper pocket at the back. So, aside from those I mentioned above, overall this backpack is really beautiful and great from everyday bag, the chain straps i bought just makes the backpack very classy and stylish.

I desperately want an attractive, secure travel bag. Travelon, Baggalini, Sherpani tend to be too "utilitarian." I had hoped I had found something with Arden. I ordered the Carmel backpack because it seemed like it was the largest bag they had that could be worn crossbody. But, it was not big enough. I would also like to see vegan leather or other less touristy materials.

This bag prevented a distraction pickpocket attempt in Rome. I have all my valuables after a (gross) man loudly burped in my ear and tried to separate myself from my husband. Now I’m enjoying a glass of wine worry free.

I use a wheelchair. I strap this bag around my waist so it sits in my lap. All my stuff is right where I need it, it doesnt get wet when it rains, and I don't have to worry about a creep running off with it because of the anti-theft features. It also looks fantastic! One of the best bags I've ever owned.

I bought this for a trip to Europe. I ordered 5 or 6 other brands but the fabrics and structure was "sloppy" on all of them. I wanted more structure and should have ordered this one to begin with. I already have a cross body and use it all the time.
If I would change 1 thing, I would not have the credit card pocket facing out. The hook is just a hook, not a screw on hook. I will likely just put glasses in this pocket and use another option for credit cards/currency inside the large body of the bag.

This backpack is amazing! Not only is it very functional and durable, but it is also classy and beautiful. The size is perfect, the metal clasps and zippers make it more elegant and dressy, it holds everything I need and then some, and it can convert to a sling or crossbody without being too bulky for me. I am using it in my busy everyday life now and look forward to traveling abroad with it this summer. I also love the rainproofing which has saved my stuff a few times already! Thank you! :)

I just received my new Carmel backpack and plan to use it on my upcoming trip to Europe. It's beautiful and well-crafted! I like that it looks pretty enough to wear for both casual and more dressed-up activities. It is quite roomy, but not too big that it can't be worn like a purse. My Backpack & Crossbody arrived & I love them. The quality is amazing & I can’t wait to use them on my travels. There was an issue with delivery & Carmen went above & beyond to rectify the situation & made sure it arrived before I am to leave for my holiday. Love the actual backpack part. It is very sturdy and good quality. Held just enough and felt safe! I've only used this backpack for about 3 weeks while on a trip and unfortunately the straps started peeling. Really sad :( might try a different strap instead but loved the leather while they lasted.

I've had my Crissy Crossbody for years (still going strong), have been eyeing this bag for ages, finally purchased it before heading to Europe last month, and could not have been happier with it during our trip!! Though I had brought other pieces with me I ended up using this every day and it worked perfectly for hours full of exploring, hikes, pubs, museums, as well as nights out where we were a bit dressier. It matched everything perfectly.
For interior size context I was able to fit my DLSR camera with a huge 55-300 lens which is 5lbs by itself, packable umbrella, extra gloves or beanie, small makeup items, extra phone battery with cords, money, and other essentials, and a metal water bottle with a little configuring and was never worried about the weight or sturdiness of the bag. It also rained a ton on our trip and I was never worried about my stuff getting wet inside.
I didn't ever adjust the straps to properly make it crossbody, but I did quickly link them together to wear it like that for a museum visit which was no problem and only took a couple of seconds. I also found removing the straps made it really convenient for me to pack this inside of a larger backpack for our longer travel days.
Now that I'm home I've still been using this bag more than my others so I plan to purchase the fabric straps as well for a bit more comfort when I'm not wearing giant bulky coats and versatility.

I tried to love it, but it did work for me.
I thought it was bigger. The main compartment. It’s hard to get your hands in the main compartment. Would be great if bigger, had water bottle. It would also be great if it had an easy access to keep your phone in
The front area is hard to get hand in.

TALL LADIES, CHECK THIS OUT! If you’re wondering if the backpack straps will be long enough, THEY ARE! I’m 5’9” and a curvy girl. I ordered the Carmel Convertible Backpack & Crossbody and the Crissy Full Crossbody with Faux Leather Strap (both locking hardware) and I’m SO HAPPY. These bags are gorgeous and roomy. I ordered both because I anticipated the backpack straps wouldn’t be long enough and I’m happy to say I was wrong! The backpack and crossbody straps are the length I love with more to spare! I will keep both and instead of waiting for my European adventure, these will be my everyday bags. They’re seriously SO NICE and well made. Best investment ever! Ordered on Saturday, I received both bags the following Thursday. Excellent customer service and packaging!

I absolutely love this backpack purse!!! I purchased it over 6 months ago and it’s been on 10+ trips with me. It fits so much than what it appears to! I can fit two 16 ounce water bottles along with snacks and all my essentials (wallet, hand sanitizer, lip balm, reusable grocery bag, sunglasses with case, and more!). I also have used it as an everyday bag. The features are amazing (anti-theft, water resistant, easy to wipe clean) on top of it looking so chic! I get compliments from strangers lol Another fun fact on how functional this bag is, my husband and I took a road trip with our dogs and forgot to bring their leashes! So we used the straps of the backpack since they’re removal as leashes and they worked fantastic in a pinch lol If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend this backpack purse. It was totally worth every penny and then some!

I am so happy I found Arden Cove! I was searching for a cute new bag, especially for travel. This bag hit all the important details of style and functionality. I love the smaller size and that it holds it's shape, it was perfect for my needs. I even put a water bottle inside. The wallet front with clasping zippers AND RFID is a dream. I also was happy with the pockets inside for easy access, and easy to see with the blue lining. I felt secure knowing that it was slash-proof and had clasps that made it harder for others to get into. AND water resistant (love the reinforced zippers)! Plus it's just really cute. I'm back from my travels, but still using this bag daily. Highly recommend this bag! I can't wait to get my next bag from Arden Cove! If you are debating buying this bag, DO IT!

I love this bag! It looks so sleek, and I definitely feel safer carrying it around vs any other backpack. I originally got it with the microfiber straps, but I ended up buying the jacquard ones instead since they’re more comfortable. Overall this bag is perfect for me since I prefer to be hands-free. It looks great and works well!

I really like the backpack, great quality, however, the zipper does not slide very easy, the straps are too big and stiff for such a small backpack, very uncomfortable to wear and keeps falling off my shoulders. the D-rings, and lock ring are too big which makes this beautiful backpack looks cheap. I had to replace the straps with a chain straps to match the beauty of this handbag, you might want to make the straps a little bit smaller, and maybe you can use a softer kind of leather. I would also suggest to put the bottom D-ring more towards the back so the rings doesn't show when you use it as a shoulder bag and maybe make the bottom front pocket and inch taller, and it this backpack would be perfect if you guys also put a zipper pocket at the back. So, aside from those I mentioned above, overall this backpack is really beautiful and great from everyday bag, the chain straps i bought just makes the backpack very classy and stylish.

Love the bag's anti-theft feature. It is small but holds more than you'd think.
I recently purchased the Carmel Convertible Backpack & Crossbody bag. It is extremely well made. It is everything as described and can hardly wait to use it on upcoming travels. I desperately want an attractive, secure travel bag. Travelon, Baggalini, Sherpani tend to be too "utilitarian." I had hoped I had found something with Arden. I ordered the Carmel backpack because it seemed like it was the largest bag they had that could be worn crossbody. But, it was not big enough. I would also like to see vegan leather or other less touristy materials.

This bag prevented a distraction pickpocket attempt in Rome. I have all my valuables after a (gross) man loudly burped in my ear and tried to separate myself from my husband. Now I’m enjoying a glass of wine worry free.

The straps are pretty stiff which is to be expected with the steel cables inside. It's a cute little bag that works well and fits what I need.

Very handy for small things, if you dont need to pack too much inside. The front pocket for credit cards was great as i did not have to carry an additional wallet!

I use a wheelchair. I strap this bag around my waist so it sits in my lap. All my stuff is right where I need it, it doesnt get wet when it rains, and I don't have to worry about a creep running off with it because of the anti-theft features. It also looks fantastic! One of the best bags I've ever owned.

I bought this for a trip to Europe. I ordered 5 or 6 other brands but the fabrics and structure was "sloppy" on all of them. I wanted more structure and should have ordered this one to begin with. I already have a cross body and use it all the time.
If I would change 1 thing, I would not have the credit card pocket facing out. The hook is just a hook, not a screw on hook. I will likely just put glasses in this pocket and use another option for credit cards/currency inside the large body of the bag.

This backpack is amazing! Not only is it very functional and durable, but it is also classy and beautiful. The size is perfect, the metal clasps and zippers make it more elegant and dressy, it holds everything I need and then some, and it can convert to a sling or crossbody without being too bulky for me. I am using it in my busy everyday life now and look forward to traveling abroad with it this summer. I also love the rainproofing which has saved my stuff a few times already! Thank you! :)

I just received my new Carmel backpack and plan to use it on my upcoming trip to Europe. It's beautiful and well-crafted! I like that it looks pretty enough to wear for both casual and more dressed-up activities. It is quite roomy, but not too big that it can't be worn like a purse. My Backpack & Crossbody arrived & I love them. The quality is amazing & I can’t wait to use them on my travels. There was an issue with delivery & Carmen went above & beyond to rectify the situation & made sure it arrived before I am to leave for my holiday. I’m super impressed with my backpack & even more impressed by Carmen’s customer service. After endless searching online for anti theft bags it was nice to find Arden Cove who supply the best anti theft quality but to also be “designer stylish” so you don’t have to look like a tourist.
